Data Services includes fully managed data products for storing, managing, indexing, and querying application data for operational workloads, search and retrieval, and AI use cases.
DigitalOcean Vector Databases let you store and search vector embeddings for retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and other AI workloads, using Weaviate, OpenSearch, or PostgreSQL as the underlying engine.
Run fully managed database clusters running your choice of database engine and avoid manual setup and maintenance.
Data Services provides fully managed data products that help you run application databases, support similarity search and AI retrieval workflows, and build retrieval-augmented generation experiences with your own content. You can use Data Services without handling infrastructure setup, scaling, patching, backups, or ongoing maintenance yourself.
Data Services includes the following product types:
- Managed Databases: Fully managed databases for storing and operating on structured application data.
- Vector Databases: Fully managed vector databases for storing embeddings and powering semantic search, similarity search, and other AI workloads.
- Knowledge Bases: Retrieval-ready data stores that let you ingest your own content and use it for retrieval-augmented generation and other AI experiences.

DigitalOcean Managed Caching is being discontinued on 30 June 2025.
To replace Managed Caching, we are offering Managed Valkey, a Redis-compatible alternative with RDMA and higher throughput. All existing Managed Caching clusters automatically convert to Valkey clusters by 30 June 2025 during your upgrade window, retaining all data.

DigitalOcean Managed Weaviate is now in public preview and enabled for all users. Weaviate is a fully managed vector database for retrieval-augmented generation and semantic search workloads.
Create clusters from the Vector Databases page, the
/v2/vector-databasesAPI, ordoctl vector-databases. Select Weaviate as the engine and review the public preview disclaimer and legal terms in the create flow. For setup, limits, and pricing, see Managed Weaviate.
