Managed Databases Version Support and End-of-Life Dates

Last verified 29 Oct 2026

DigitalOcean Managed Databases tracks version availability and end-of-life (EOL) dates for each database engine. Use these dates to plan version upgrades before DigitalOcean ends support or begins scheduled upgrades. We announce each version’s end of support in the release notes before its end-of-life date.

Managed Databases versions can have two separate lifecycle dates:

  • End of availability: The date after which you can no longer create a cluster using the version. Existing clusters can continue running the version until its end-of-life date.
  • End of life: The date on which DigitalOcean no longer supports the version. An upstream software project’s EOL date is not the DigitalOcean EOL date unless DigitalOcean adopts it as the support deadline.

The Lifecycle Status column shows where each version is in its lifecycle:

  • No announced EOL: You can create clusters using the version, and DigitalOcean has not announced an end-of-life date.
  • EOL scheduled: You can create clusters using the version, and it has an announced end-of-life date.
  • Unavailable for new clusters: You can no longer create clusters using the version. Existing clusters continue running it until its end-of-life date.
  • EOL reached: The version’s end-of-life date has passed.

The date columns can also show the following values:

  • No announced date: DigitalOcean has not announced this date.
  • Not recorded: The version is no longer available for new clusters, but we don’t have a record of when that started.
