MySQL 8.0 End of Life and Forced Upgrades Beginning 30 October 2026

Last edited on 11 Jun 2026

MySQL 8.0 reaches end of life on 30 October 2026. Beginning on that date, all existing managed MySQL 8.0 database clusters are scheduled for forced upgrades to MySQL 8.4 during each cluster’s maintenance window.

There is no downtime associated with these updates, but you may experience brief periods of latency during the maintenance window.

Review or adjust your cluster’s maintenance window before 30 October 2026 so the upgrade occurs at a time that works for your workload. See How to Schedule Automatic Software Updates for MySQL Database Clusters.

MySQL 8.4 is the supported version for new and upgraded clusters. For version support, see MySQL Limits.
