How do I fix the DNS error "Primary Name Server Not Listed at Parent"?

The error “Primary Name Server Not Listed at Parent” occurs when checking DNS propagation and your primary name server is not in the list of name servers you provided to the registrar.

To fix this error, update your registrar to use DigitalOcean’s name servers with the following IP addresses:

  • ns1.digitalocean.com uses the IP address 173.245.58.51.
  • ns2.digitalocean.com uses the IP address 173.245.59.41.
  • ns3.digitalocean.com uses the IP address 198.41.222.173.
Apps do not have static IP addresses so you cannot point an A record at an app.
