Manually back up a Droplet by creating a snapshot, converting an automatic backup into a snapshot, or using third-party tools like SnapShooter or rsync to back up specific data.
How can I migrate my data from my previous provider?

You can migrate your data from another provider to DigitalOcean using the following tutorials.
If you are coming from another Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, see our tutorial on how to migrate your data from AWS, Linode, or Rackspace.
If you are migrating a WordPress website from a shared web hosting provider (like SiteGround, GoDaddy, or HostGator), see our tutorial on how to migrate your WordPress site.
If you are coming from a shared web hosting provider but are using something other than WordPress, you can use the same guide, as many of the steps are the same. After setting up your Droplet with a server stack, take a backup of your data at your old provider, upload that data to your Droplet, and then update any configuration details, such as database credentials.
