When you create your first team, DigitalOcean automatically applies a $5 signup credit. No promo code is required. The credit is visible in the Control Panel’s top navigation bar as a Signup Credit balance. The credit balance updates as you pay for resources.

The following conditions apply to the signup credit:

• Signup credits expire 90 days after signup.
• The credit applies to all products except SaaS Add-Ons.
• You must add a valid payment method before you can create Droplets or other resources.
• You cannot transfer signup credits to other teams.
• Signup credits are subject to DigitalOcean’s Promotional Credit & Discount Terms.
