Standard Edition clusters receive all of the following notifications. Advanced Edition clusters receive resource usage notifications for low disk space only.
Types of Cluster Notifications

MySQL is an open source, object-relational database built with speed and reliability in mind. Its large and active developer community has created many third-party applications, tools, and libraries that expand MySQL’s functionality.
We monitor your MySQL clusters and send automatic email alerts for failover, resource usage, and maintenance to your team email. You cannot disable or customize these emails.
Failover Notifications
When we detect a performance issue in your cluster, such as problems with the underlying Droplet that the cluster is running on, we start a primary node replacement and send you an email notification. You don’t need to take any action, but if you haven’t set up your cluster for high availability, you may experience downtime.
Replication Issue Notifications
We send notifications when we detect that your MySQL cluster contains at least one table with 5,000 or more rows that doesn’t have a primary key defined for at least one hour. You can fix this by creating a primary key for the tables specified in the alert.
Resource Usage Notifications
We send low resource notifications when your cluster is low on memory or disk space.

Low Disk Space: We send this notification when your cluster’s disk space usage reaches greater than 90% of available space for one minute or more within the last five minutes. You can free up disk space by removing unnecessary data, such as errant logs, or by increasing the size of your cluster.

Out of Memory: We send this notification when one or more nodes are low on memory and the system’s out-of-memory process (OOM) has stopped two processes in the past six hours.
To receive alerts about other issues, such as CPU usage, you can set up cluster monitoring policies based on parameters you choose.
Maintenance Notifications
We email you about software maintenance on your managed database cluster:
- Scheduled maintenance: We send this notification when maintenance is scheduled on your cluster. The email includes the expected start time. Maintenance may include node rotations and can happen during your weekly maintenance window. No action is required.
- Maintenance started: We send this notification when mandatory maintenance begins on your cluster.
- Maintenance completed: We send this notification when maintenance finishes and your database is fully available.
You can view or edit your cluster’s weekly maintenance window in the Upgrade window section of the cluster’s Settings page.
