YC QM

Generated on 1 Oct 2026 from the YC QM catalog page

QM is an open-source, self-hosted multiplayer agent harness. Each team member gets their own isolated AI agent workspace with memory, files, and permissions, and agents can collaborate with teammates through shared projects and chat. This Droplet runs QM’s web UI, admin console, and sign-in portal with a bundled Postgres database; agent sandboxes run externally on e2b for isolation.

Creating an App using the API

In addition to creating a Droplet from the YC QM 1-Click App using the control panel, you can also use the DigitalOcean API. As an example, to create a 4GB YC QM Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following curl command. You need to either save your API access token to an environment variable or substitute it in the command below.

curl -X POST -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
         -H 'Authorization: Bearer '$TOKEN'' -d \
        '{"name":"choose_a_name","region":"sfo2","size":"s-2vcpu-4gb","image":"ycqm"}' \
        "https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/droplets"

Getting Started After Deploying YC QM

  1. SSH into your Droplet: ssh root@your_server_ip

  2. The setup wizard runs automatically on first login — it will ask for an admin email and password, a model provider API key (Anthropic or OpenAI), and an e2b API key for agent sandboxes.

  3. Once setup finishes, open https://your_server_ip in your browser and sign in with the email and password you chose.

Note: your browser may show a certificate warning on first visit — this is expected and the connection is still encrypted.
