# YC QM

Generated on 16 Oct 2026 from [the YC QM catalog page](https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/yc-qm)

QM is an open-source AI workspace that helps teams research, build, and automate work through a web interface and Slack. Each person gets a personal workspace, while shared channels and projects let teammates collaborate with an agent.

Deploy QM on DigitalOcean to run it on your own infrastructure, using your choice of supported models.

## What you can do with QM

- **Find answers:** Search across connected documents, email, databases, and the web.
- **Build internal tools:** Create web apps and share them with the people who need them.
- **Automate recurring work:** Schedule tasks, monitor changes, and trigger workflows through webhooks.
- **Move development forward:** Work with repositories, run tests, open pull requests, and monitor CI.
- **Collaborate with context:** Maintain personal and shared memory, files, and reusable skills.

## Built for teams

Administrators control available models, agent harnesses, permissions, and sharing policies. QM supports multiple harnesses, including Pi, OpenCode, Codex, and Claude Code.

## This Droplet Comes ready to use

This Droplet runs QM’s web UI, admin console, and sign-in portal with a bundled Postgres database. Serverless Inference is connected on deployment with a model access key created and injected for you.

## Software Included

*This Marketplace listing does not include a detailed software list.*

## Creating an App using the Control Panel

Click the **Deploy to DigitalOcean** button to create a Droplet based on this 1-Click App. If you aren’t logged in, this link will prompt you to log in with your DigitalOcean account.

## Creating an App using the API

In addition to creating a Droplet from the YC QM 1-Click App using the control panel, you can also use the [DigitalOcean API](https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/api). As an example, to create a 4GB YC QM Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following `curl` command. You need to either save your [API access token](https://docs.digitalocean.com/reference/api/create-personal-access-token/index.html.md) to an environment variable or substitute it in the command below.

```shell
curl -X POST -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
         -H 'Authorization: Bearer '$TOKEN'' -d \
        '{"name":"choose_a_name","region":"sfo2","size":"s-2vcpu-4gb","image":"ycqm"}' \
        "https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/droplets"
```

## Getting Started After Deploying YC QM

1. **SSH into your Droplet:** `ssh root@your_server_ip`
2. **Complete the setup wizard**, which runs automatically on first login:

   - Set your admin email and password.
   - Your DigitalOcean Personal Access Token (PAT) to deploy MARS Sandboxes. [Link Here](https://cloud.digitalocean.com/account/api/tokens/new)
   - If you did not select **“Make it work on deployment”** when creating your Droplet, provide A model provider API key from DigitalOcean, Anthropic, or OpenAI.
3. **Open QM:** Visit `https://your_server_ip` in your browser and sign in with the email and password you chose.

> **Note:** Your browser may show a certificate warning on your first visit. The connection is encrypted, but your browser cannot verify the server’s identity. Confirm that the IP address matches your Droplet before proceeding.
