SaaS

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a type of cloud service that offers software solutions as a product, hosted by the cloud service provider on a subscription basis.

You can access the software products over the internet while the cloud service provider manages and maintains the software. SaaS abstracts the software applications’s underlying infrastructure and provides an easy-to-use user interface which hides the backend components of the product.

Businesses and users use SaaS applications because they are easy to use, simple, and generally easily accessible.

Users are able to use SaaS applications without worrying about installation, configuration, and maintenance of the product. An example of a SaaS product is Discord, a communication platform where users can create servers with text, voice, and video channels. While Discord is a popular platform, the underlying infrastructure is hidden by a user-friendly and intuitive interface.
