MX Record

MX records, or Mail Exchange records, define the mail servers responsible for accepting email on behalf of a domain.

MX records must point to a hostname (or subdomain) specific to the email server. For example, a website hosted at example.com needs a separate hostname, like mailserver.example.com, and a corresponding MX record to receive mail at that domain.
