IPv6 API Reference

IP addresses let machines communicate across a network. DigitalOcean Droplets are assigned IPv4 addresses by default. Enabling IPv6 on a Droplet gives you access to its 16 additional IPv6 addresses.

The IPv6 API endpoints are organized into the following groups:

  • Reserved IPv6 (4 endpoints): DigitalOcean Reserved IPv6s are publicly-accessible static IP addresses that can be mapped to one of your Droplets. They can be used to create highly available setups or other configurations requiring movable addresses.
  • Reserved IPv6 Actions (1 endpoints): Reserved IPv6 actions requests are made on the actions endpoint of a specific reserved IPv6.
