Creating an App using the API

In addition to creating a Droplet from the LogStash 1-Click App using the control panel, you can also use the DigitalOcean API. As an example, to create a 4GB LogStash Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following curl command. You need to either save your API access token) to an environment variable or substitute it in the command below.

Getting Started After Deploying LogStash

LogStash Droplet 1-Click comes with LogStash installed as an APT package. You can find the LogStash binary here:

$ /usr/share/logstash/bin/logstash

To run LogStash, you will first need to define it’s configuration. LogStash configuration contains data inputs, mappings and processing, and data outputs. You can read more about this here.
