Disco makes deploying to your own server as simple as git push. Every push builds a Docker image, health-checks it, and swaps traffic over with zero downtime. SSL, logs, scaling, workers, and cron jobs are all handled from one dashboard. Unlimited projects, open source, and your data never leaves your Droplet.

Creating an App using the Control Panel

Click the Deploy to DigitalOcean button to create a Droplet based on this 1-Click App. If you aren’t logged in, this link will prompt you to log in with your DigitalOcean account.

Creating an App using the API

In addition to creating a Droplet from the Disco 1-Click App using the control panel, you can also use the DigitalOcean API. As an example, to create a 4GB Disco Droplet in the SFO2 region, you can use the following curl command. You need to either save your API access token to an environment variable or substitute it in the command below.

Getting Started After Deploying Disco

Getting your own Disco server

• Wait for your Droplet to boot and have a public IP address
• Connect to your Droplet using one of the following ways:
  • ssh root@your_droplet_public_ipv4
  • or, click the “Web Console” button in the Droplet detail page
• If you see “Disco is still setting up”, you can exit from the terminal and ssh back in about 1 to 2 minutes.
• Once the Disco installation is done, you should see the following:

• Follow the https://dashboard.disco.cloud/..... link
• You will be asked to login with a GitHub account
• Once you are logged in, you will be asked whether you accept the invite to manage this server. Accept.
• You will be brought to the list of projects running on your server.
• The Disco Digital Ocean Marketplace image deploys an example Flask app which you will see. Its deployed URL was also printed as part of the message above (which you can see by ssh’ing into your machine)

Deploying your own app

• Start by forking an example app - you can see a list of frameworks on this Disco docs page
• Click “Manage GitHub Access” in the left sidebar of the web dashboard
• Click the “Set up GitHub integration” button
• You will be brought to GitHub to create an app - rename the app, or leave the random name there.
• Authorize the example repo you cloned to deploy it with Disco
• You will be brought back to the page listing your deployed apps
• Click “New Project” in the upper right corner
• Give your project a name, select the authorized repo, and click “Create Project”
• Your project will start deploying. Once it’s deployed, its deployed HTTPS url will appear in the upper right corner.

Using the disco CLI

• In the web dashboard, navigate to your server, and then click “Setup CLI Access”
• Follow the steps to install the Disco CLI, and then run the disco invite:accept https://... command to authorize your CLI to manage your server.
• Once this is done, you can run disco commands in your terminal. Your LLM can also manage and deploy projects, and monitor logs, using this CLI tool.
