Team Contact Emails

Contact emails control who receives notifications for your team. There are three types of contact emails: team, security, and billing. You can manage all three on the team settings page.

Only team owners can add, edit, and remove contact emails. Other roles may have read-only access to contact emails as part of team settings permissions.

Note
Security and billing contacts are email addresses only. These emails do not need to belong to a member of your team. DigitalOcean does not automatically remove these when your team membership changes. Team owners must add and remove these security and billing contact emails manually.

Team Email

DigitalOcean sends operational alerts and maintenance notices to the team email. By default, the team email is the email address of the person who created the team.

The team email receives the following notifications:

  • Resource alerts, like deployment failures and failovers
  • Alert policy notifications
  • Emergency migration or reboot notices
  • SSL certificate renewal notices

DigitalOcean sends some emails only to people with specific roles:

  • Droplet password emails go to whoever created the related Droplet.
  • Support ticket emails go to everyone who participated in the support ticket.

Security Contacts

Security contacts receive emails about potential vulnerabilities, abuse reports, and other issues affecting your team’s infrastructure. You can add one or more security contacts.

Until you add a security contact, security notifications go to the team owners by default.

Billing Contacts

Billing contacts receive invoices, payment reminders, and other billing-related notifications for the team. You can add one or more billing contacts.

Until you add a billing contact, billing notifications go to the team owners by default.

Manage Contact Emails

To manage contact emails, go to the team settings page and find the Contact Emails section.
