How to Destroy a Knowledge Base (KB) Public Preview

DigitalOcean GenAI Platform lets you build GPU-powered AI agents with fully-managed deployment. Agents can use pre-built or custom foundation models, incorporate function and agent routes, and implement RAG pipelines with knowledge bases.

Destroying a knowledge base permanently and irreversibly deletes the cluster, its contents, and its automated backups.

Destroy a Knowledge Base Using Automation

Destroying a knowledge base using the DigitalOcean API requires the unique identifier of the knowledge base you want to destroy. To obtain a list of knowledge bases with their unique identifiers, use the /v2/gen-ai/knowledge_bases endpoint.

How to Destroy a Knowledge Base Using the DigitalOcean API
  1. Create a personal access token and save it for use with the API.

  2. Send a DELETE request to https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/gen-ai/knowledge_bases/{uuid}

Destroy a Knowledge Base Using the Control Panel

To destroy a knowledge base from the control panel, open the cluster’s More menu. Click Destroy to open the cluster’s Settings page.

In the Destroy this knowledge base section at the bottom of the page, click the Destroy button. This opens a Destroy knowledge base confirmation window.

To permanently destroy the knowledge base, type or copy and paste the name of the knowledge base into the text field, then click Destroy.
