Node Plan

Node plan, database or cluster configuration is the hardware plan for node specifications.

The node plan is the choice between different machine types with specific monthly expenses. There is a start node plan and a pro node plan and cater towards your project’s goal. We recommend different plans depending on if your project is for development or production.

Additionally, we provide a choice to add two standby nodes to your node plan to ensure zero downtime recovery.

MongoDB

There are two plans to choose from:

  • Single node clusters are single node clusters with 1 GB of RAM.
  • High availability clusters are 1 GB RAM/1 vCPU plan with standby nodes. DigitalOcean only supports three node replica sets for MongoDB clusters.

For more information about MongoDB node plans, see MongoDB Pricing.

MySQL

DigitalOcean offers two node plans for MySQL: single node clusters and high availability clusters.

  • Single node clusters are a single node cluster with 1GB of RAM.
  • High availability clusters have a primary node with 2GB RAM/ 1vCPU and a matching standby node.
  • Read-only nodes are replicas of the primary node and are optional.

For more information about MySQL node plans, see MySQL Pricing.

PostgreSQL

DigitalOcean offers two node plans for PostgreSQL: single node clusters and high availability clusters.

  • Single node clusters are a single node cluster with 1GB of RAM.
  • High availability clusters have a primary node with 2GB RAM/ 1vCPU and a matching standby node.
  • Read-only nodes are replicas of the primary node and are optional.

Redis

DigitalOcean offers two node plans for Redis: single node clusters and high availability clusters.

  • Single node clusters are a single node cluster with 1 GB of RAM.
  • High availability clusters have a primary node with 2 GB RAM/ 1vCPU and a matching standby node.
