lastmod

lastmod is a built-in page variable.

On our site, lastmod populates the “Validated on” field in page headers. We use it to denote the last time we substantially reviewed and tested a piece of content (not the last time the content was touched).

Custom Front Matter

Front Matter for Tax Documentation

These front matter fields support the tax documentation layouts in layouts/taxes.

  • country: Mandatory. The name of the country. Include “the” in lowercase when necessary. For example, country: the Russian Federation.

  • taxrate: Defaults to “Varies”. Include the percent sign. For example, taxrate: 11%.

  • since: Mandatory. In yyyy-mm-dd format. For example, since: 2019-01-30.

  • taxtype: Defaults to “Value Added Tax”. For example, taxtype: Goods and Services Tax.

  • taxabbr: Defaults to “VAT”. For example, taxabbr: GST.
