# My app failed to build and I received an exit code

A failed build with an exit code of 1 or greater indicates that a user process has failed.

To diagnose which process failed during build, review your app’s build logs in the control panel by clicking the **Activity** tab and then clicking the **deployment** link of the failed build. You can then see the app’s build logs under the **Build logs** window.
