# How to Destroy Alerts

DigitalOcean Uptime is a monitoring service that checks the health of any URL or IP address. Use Uptime to monitor the latency, uptime, and SSL certificates of any website or host, and receive email or Slack alerts at thresholds you choose.

To delete an Uptime alert, go to the **Active Uptime Alerts** table at the bottom of your Uptime check’s status page.

1. On the right, click the drop-down arrow for the alert you want to delete, then select **Delete:**
2. This opens a confirmation pop-up. Click **Delete** to confirm the action.
