# Network File Storage Limits Network File Storage is a fully managed, POSIX-compliant file storage solution built for demanding workloads like AI/ML pipelines, containerized applications, and DigitalOcean Kubernetes (DOKS) clusters. It provides scalable, high-throughput shared storage that simplifies storage management for distributed applications. - Standard Tier shares must be at least 50 GiB. High Performance Tier shares must be at least 500 GiB. All shares can be no more than 32 TiB (32,768 GiB). Customers who need larger share sizes or higher performance can [contact support](https://cloudsupport.digitalocean.com). - You can increase a share’s storage size at any time, but you cannot reduce it. - You can mount a share on up to 32 clients at once. If you need to connect more than 32 clients, [contact support](https://cloudsupport.digitalocean.com) or your account team. - You can upgrade a share from Standard to High Performance at any time without interruption. You cannot downgrade from High Performance to Standard. - You can only attach shares to one VPC network at a time. - You can only move shares between VPC networks within the same datacenter. - You can only mount shares on Droplets and DOKS clusters in the same VPC network. - You cannot mount shares across [VPC peering](https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/networking/vpc/how-to/create-peering/index.html.md) connections. - You cannot mount shares across [Partner Network Connect](https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/networking/vpc/how-to/create-partner-attachment/index.html.md) attachments. - Each share can have up to 5 snapshots. - Backups are not supported.
