# DigitalOcean Insights Features (public)

DigitalOcean Insights provides observability for supported resources through metrics, logs, traces, custom dashboards, and metric alerts.

DigitalOcean Insights is available in [public preview](https://docs.digitalocean.com/platform/product-lifecycle/index.html.md#public-preview). Insights provides dashboards, metrics, logs, traces, and metric alerts for supported resources. Available telemetry depends on the resource type, region, and configuration.

## Dashboards

Dashboards let you monitor related metrics from supported resources in a single view. You can [manage custom dashboards](https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/insights/how-to/manage-custom-dashboards/index.html.md) and [customize dashboards](https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/insights/how-to/customize-dashboards/index.html.md) with charts, queries, variables, and groups.

## Metrics

Metrics help you monitor resource health and utilization, investigate performance changes, and compare behavior over time. Available metrics, units, dimensions, and collection behavior vary by resource. ## Logs

Insights gives you one place to search, filter, and inspect logs from supported DigitalOcean resources, helping you investigate errors, resource activity, and application behavior. ## Traces

## Metric Alerts

Metric alerts notify you when supported resource metrics meet conditions you define, helping you detect changes without continuously monitoring dashboards.
